Here's some surprising news that made us do a double-take over our breakfast cereal this morning: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D has officially reached its "adulthood"! While it might not be ancient, it's now been longer since its 3DS release (June 16, 2011) than the time between the original N64 version (November 21, 1998 in Japan) and the remake. To put it another way, as Twitter user @SapphireSenatrx cleverly put it, "Ocarina of Time 3D is now as old as Ocarina of Time was when they made Ocarina of Time 3D".

To be exact, there's a 12-year and seven-month gap (4,591 days to be precise) between the N64 and 3DS versions, and it's been just as long since the 3DS remake hit the shelves. So, are we overdue for another remake? Well, probably not, but it's fun to speculate. We did ask for one last December, during the game's 25th anniversary (check out our thoughts in the linked article).

But this news does make us wonder, what Zelda game will be next in line for a remake? It's been over 12 years since Skyward Sword's initial release, and we've already got that one on the Switch. So, which one should follow? How about A Link Between Worlds? Now that's a remake we'd love to see!
