Nintendo has announced that a new patch for Splatoon 3 will be released this week, bumping the game up to Version 5.1.0. The patch will include new data related to the Splatoween Splatfest and tweaks to multiplayer. At the end of the patch notes, Nintendo also mentions that the next patch for Splatoon 3 will be released around the middle of November to add in the Deep Cut amiibo data.
The full rundown of the patch is as follows:
* The terrain in Mahi-Mahi Resort has been changed in all modes.
* Specifications for some main weapons have changed, including the Splattershot Jr., L-3 Nozzlenose, H-3 Nozzlenose, S-BLAST '92, Carbon Roller, Splat Roller, Painbrush, Mini Splatling, Hydra Splatling, Glooga Dualies, and others.
* Specifications for some sub weapons have changed, including the Curling Bomb.
* Specifications for some special weapons have changed, including the Killer Wail 5.1, Kraken Royale, Trizooka, Tenta Missiles, and others.
* Points required for some special weapons have been changed.
This update focuses on adding special Splatfest data and making tweaks to multiplayer. Additionally, it makes it easier to utilize the strengths of some main weapons and increases the options for other main weapons that fulfill similar roles. It also adjusts some special weapons to make them more effective in battle.
Other than weapon changes, there are also a number of fixes in this patch, including issues with player controls, multiplayer, Salmon Run, and Splatfests. These fixes should improve the overall experience for players.
The patch is expected to release on October 17th, 2023.
